In a new twist for 2023, the $250,000 NFL Survivor Contest at BetOnline has an accumulating prize pot. For this contest, every dollar from every entry fee goes into growing the prize once BetOnline surpasses $250k in entry fees. Per the main website rules page, BetOnline’s NFL Survivor Contest begins week one of the 2023 NFL season and continues through week 18. Moreover, registration for this contest just opened on July 14th and closes on September 11th at 8:05 pm. Contestants must have a valid BetOnline account to register for the Survivor Contest and can participate by purchasing at least one entry at $30 per entry.
For this report, SBS will be going over the latest news and notes coming from BetOnline along with more thoughts about using the site.
Contestants can enter the Survivor Contest up to 25 times
Per the main rules page at BetOnline, contestants are able to enter the $250k contest up to 25 times with additional entries available at a discounted rate. For entries two through five, it will be $20 each, entries six to ten are $15 each, and then 11-25 for $10 each. Registration for the Survivor Contest is only available online and you cannot register via phone, chat, or email. That said, the contest is currently in the early bird promotion phase where you can offer advance purchase of NFL Survivor contest entries. During the promotion period, every player that purchases three or more entries in the contest will receive an additional entry free of charge.
For this contest, the free survivor entry fee will be credited by Friday, August 25th. Moreover, the free NFL Survivor entry is non-transferable and BetOnline reserves the right to alter or amend the terms and conditions of this promotion at any time.
Contestants must select a team to win each week
Per the main BetOnline website, contestants will have to select one team to win its game outright each week of the NFL regular season. Point spreads are irrelevant. If the team you select wins, your entry remains alive and you select a team for the following week. However, if the team you select loses or ties, your entry is eliminated. Once you select a team for a week, that team is not available for selection for the remainder of the contest. The contestant(s) that have entries remain alive, without selecting a losing team, is the $250,000 Survivor Contest winner. If multiple contestants remain alive after Week 18, they will split the $250 evenly.
The contest ends on Week 18 of the 2023 NFL season, or when there is only one contestant remaining; whenever comes first. If three contestants remain in Week 15 and two contestants select losing teams, the remaining contestant is declared the winner. If a game is canceled or postponed for any reason and the game is not played before the following Wednesday, both teams scheduled to play in that game will be graded as losers. In terms of making picks, simply select the team you think will win its game outright. Once a pick is made, the selection may be changed at any time until the game locks. At this time, the selection is confirmed and may not be changed.
